"Pietersite's meaning revolves around transformation, courage, and enhanced intuition with its swirling, tempestuous colors earning it the nickname "storm stone". It is a stone of empowerment, said to help overcome limitations, foster personal growth, and bring clarity by connecting to deep subconscious insights. This unique chalcedony is often associated with the third eye and solar plexus chakras stimulating spiritual awareness and inner strength.
This freeform shaped Pietersite from Namibia is made up of shades of blue, gold and black. The chatoyancy of this gorgeous stone dances with the light and is complimented by sterling silver embellishments: sterling silver droplets, buttons and a coordinating 3mm blue sapphire. The Pietersite is hand-set into a serrated fine silver bezel. The backplate has a light vein texture that mimics the veins of color in the stone.
The back is highlighted with a handsawn window into the stone and includes the 925 mark for sterling silver and my initals as the artist. The window shows a naturally occuring, tiny (approx. 5mm), vug in the stone. A vug is a small cavity or empty space.
Included with your purchase of this pendant is a 20"sterling silver chain with a sterling lobster clasp.
Both the pendant and the chain have a patina so that the embellishments stand out beautifully with added depth.
I added a hand-rubbed micro-crystalline wax to the pendant and chain to slow the natural tarnishing of the silver but I will also include a jewelry polishing cloth with your purchase for touch-ups.
