About Me...
Hello, my name is Synthia and welcome to my online shop! Using a variety of metalsmithing and jewelry making techniques, I handcraft unique, nature-inspired, sterling silver and copper jewelry. I use primarily hand tools such as jewelers saws, files, and hammers to saw, forge and smooth each piece of jewelry I make. I also hand finish each piece with sandpapers and polishing papers to prepare each piece for either a high shine finish, or add patina for a more organic, earthy look. I only use green, recycled silver in my jewelry. I also use the beautiful and unique stones and metals that are found in Michigan and the surrounding areas of the Great Lakes. My inspirations come primarily from nature. My husband and I have our own little piece of "Paradise", our home located in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The lava ridges that we live on overlooking Lake Superior take my breath away on a daily basis. It is truly a magnificent area.
I enjoy sharing my love of nature and Michigan with others through my jewelry, so welcome, and thank you so much for stopping by!
My signature piece...if you love Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, you probably love Lake Superior, too! This is my #1 bestselling piece! My customers have sent these all over the country to friends and family who no longer live in the Upper Peninsula but have left a piece of their ♥️ there. The idea came about when my daughter was in her sophomore year at NMU in 2012, and I asked her whether she would like me to make her a Lake Superior pendant or an Upper Peninsula pendant. She couldn't choose and the idea for this pendant was born! I checked around and no one had thought to put the two together...it was one or the other. My feeling is that they belong together!

Care and Cleaning
Caring for your handmade jewelry is simple, but very important. Take your jewelry off before washing your hands (if a ring) or taking a shower. Do not wear while swimming, gardening or while doing any vigorous activity or sport where the piece could be bumped or scratched. Remove before going to bed and avoid any exposure to chemicals, lotions, or high temps. For many of my pieces I add a patina. If you feel that you need to clean a piece that has the added patina just buff lightly with a soft jeweler's cleaning cloth.
