In Michigan, Datolite is only found in the native copper deposits and is unique to Michigan's Copper Country, the Keweenaw Peninsula. It is found in the basaltic lavas and ranges in color from reds and pinks to whites and yellows.
This datolite is a deep red/orange color with a small amount of the host basalt at the edge. I designed the setting with the stone in mind with hand stamped sterling wire and fine silver orbs.
Sterling Silver and fine silver setting, hand stamped, and I added patina to accentuate the setting. The back is engraved with the mark 925 for sterling silver and my initals as the artist.
Pendant measures 1-1/4” x 3/4”
Included is an 18” Sterling Silver chain with lobster clasp with patina added to highlight the comfortable woven pattern of this chain.
Datolite's metaphysical meaning is that it builds a "deeper connection to universal energy and higher consciousness. It facilitates spiritual growth and allows the experience of a greater sense of oneness with the universe. This crystal fosters compassion, love, and emotional healing. It expands the heart with positive energies."
